The code-share services operated by ALM and SLM were initially agreed to by the two carriers early in 1993. Pursuant to the agreement, SLM blocks space on ALM's services between Miami and Curacao and displays its two-letter "PY" designator code on these services. While SLM's flights operate as through, single-plane services between Paramaribo and Miami with a stop at Curacao, they are not available for purchase by passengers travelling between Curacao and Miami.

Authority for Long-Term Wet Lease to Lineas Aereas Suramericanas
AIA and LAS are now negotiating an amendment of the agreement which would extend the scope of the operation to Quito and/or Guayaquli, Ecuador. Flights would operate between points in Colombia and points in Ecuador; cargo would, however, be carried on these flights which originated in the United States and is destined for Ecuador, and vice versa. Thus, we believe the Department's approval of this extension would be required. The other terms of the wet lease agreement remain the same.
