Re: Application of Korean Air Lines
On April 21, 1997, Korean Air Lines Co., Ltd. MCKAY") filed an application for renewal of authority to commingle blind sector combination and all-cargo traffic with traffic moving in foreign air transportation. On the same day, KAL filed a docketed application seeking renewal of an exemption the Department awarded it one year ago. KAL asserts in both applications that approval is warranted in consideration of the governing principles of comity and reciprocity.
On this day, World Airways, Inc. ("World.) filed an answer in Docket OST-96-1235 opposing renewal of KAL' s exemption. World hereby submits this answer in opposition to renewal of KAL's blind sector authorizations as well. In support of this answer, World relies on the same facts and arguments asserted in support of its opposition to the application pending in Docket OST-96-1235 and respectfully requests that those facts and arguments be incorporated by reference herein.
