Dismissal of Application for Statement of Authorization
February 5, 1998
For the reasons stated in the accompanying letter and attachments, I hereby withdraw the Application for Statement of Authorization for Fifth Freedom flights involving Eireoriginating/terminating traffic.
This application replaces that dated February 4, 1998, and withdrawn simultaneously with the submission of this letter. The reason for that withdrawal and the substitution of the attached application is that I have now been informed by Britannia that the first series of flights referred to in the original application; i.e., those involving United Kingdom originations will, in fact, make technical stops only at Shannon en route between the indicated U.K. points and Sanford, Florida. Accordingly, the amended application seeks approval only for the second aspect of the original application; i.e., 24 round-trip charter flights, all of which are to originate in Eire with partial loading/unloading at Dublin and Shannon en route to and from Sanford, Florida.
