Fast Air Carrier, S.A.

98-051 | Filed January 27, 1998 | Dismissed January 29, 1998

Application for Statement of Authorization - (Replaces Application for Short-Term Exemption Authority Filed Jan. 26, 1998)

Ten flights MIA-BOG-MIA January 28-February 8, 1998 carrying flowers and general cargo using DC-8 equipment

pdficon.gif (881 bytes)Re: Application for Statement of Authorization 10 Flights MIA-BOG-MIA

Notwithstanding the fact that a Chilean carrier and U.S. consignees/businesses may be prejudiced by a policy of the Colombian Government that strictly affects U.S. carrier charter flights, Fast Air takes notice of the U.S. Carriers concerns and respectfully withdraws its application for Statement of Authorization at this time.

Charterer: Transflores S.A.

Counsel: Juan Carlos Mencio, 305.671.5008

Re: Application for Statement of Authorization - Objection of Southern Air Transport, Inc.

In light of the restrictive policy of the Colombian DAC, and the resulting limited-entry nature of the market, Southern respectfully requests that the Department deny Fast Air's application and not permit a third country carrier to do what a U.S. carrier is not able to do.

Counsel: Pierre Murphy, Elizabeth Collins, 202.872.1679
