Republic Airline Inc. hereby petitions the Federal Aviation Administration, pursuant to 14 C.F.R. Part 11, for an exemption from the requirements of 14 C.F.R. § 121.434 to the extent necessary to employ and use EMB-l70 pilots who have been employed, trained and qualified by Republic's sister company, Shuttle America Corporation, without requiring: (1) the pilots to repeat the 25 hours of EMB-170 initial operating experience requirements, and (2) the captains (pilots in command) to repeat the FAA observation requirements.

Republic respectfully requests expedited action on this request. Republic will begin operating a code-share service on behalf of Frontier Airlines, Inc. starting on March 4, 2007. Republic will immediately begin transitioning four EMB-170 aircraft from Shuttle's fleet to Republic's fleet, along with Shuttle-qualified crewmembers on an accelerated timetable in order to launch this service. Given the timetable for launching the Frontier code-share service, Republic respectfully requests prompt consideration and grant of the exemption by no later than February 15, 2007 to facilitate a seamless and timely transition of Shuttle pilots to Republic, thereby enabling the traveling public to continue their future travel plans without interruption or delay.
