FAA-2006-25755

August 7, 2007

Request of Air Transport Association and Regional Airline Association to Extend Public Comment Period

A 30-day comment period, closing September 6, 2007, has been provided.

Some of the proposed amendments correct deficiencies in the order that have previously been identified by ATA and RAA members. However, other aspects of the proposal present policy issues that require additional consideration. We appreciate the FAA’s initiative to expedite the process regarding the proposed changes, but given the coincidence of the comment period with peak vacation-related absences and the Labor Day holiday, we anticipate some difficulty in coordinating with and providing meaningful comments on behalf of our respective memberships. ATA and RAA therefore request that the public comment period for this proceeding be extended for an additional 30 days.
